How we collect, use and protect your personal data as a member of our virtual airline community.
WorldWings Virtual ("WorldWings", "we", "us") is a hobbyist virtual airline for flight simulation enthusiasts operating on the IVAO and VATSIM networks. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

2.1) Account information: when you register as a pilot, we collect your name, email address, and your IVAO VID and/or VATSIM CID (the unique member identifiers issued by those networks).
2.2) Flight activity: flight plans and PIREPs (route, departure/arrival, aircraft type, flight time, network used, callsign) submitted by you or retrieved automatically from the IVAO and VATSIM public APIs while you fly under our virtual airline.
2.3) Technical data: IP address and browser information collected automatically by our web server logs for security and troubleshooting purposes.
2.4) Cookies: our website uses session cookies to keep you logged in to the Pilot Center (iCrew), and a third-party live chat widget (Landbot) that may store its own cookies to remember your conversation.
3.1) To manage your pilot account and roster status within WorldWings Virtual.
3.2) To record and display your flight activity (PIREPs, statistics, hours, live map) as part of the virtual airline's operations.
3.3) To communicate with you about your account, flights, or community announcements.
3.4) To comply with the operational and reporting standards required by the IVAO and VATSIM networks as a recognized Virtual Airline / Partner.
4.1) We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
4.2) Flight and identification data (VID/CID, callsign, flight plan) is inherently shared with the IVAO and VATSIM networks as part of using their services — this data exchange is governed by each network's own privacy policy.
4.3) Our live chat widget is provided by a third party (Landbot); messages you send through it may be processed on their servers.
We retain your account and flight data for as long as your pilot account remains active with WorldWings Virtual. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal identifying information within a reasonable timeframe, except where retaining anonymized flight statistics is necessary for historical airline records.
6.1) If you are located in the European Economic Area (or wherever GDPR-equivalent rights apply), you have the right to access, correct, export, or request deletion of your personal data held by WorldWings Virtual. To exercise these rights, email admin@worldwingsvirtual.com.
6.2) For requests specifically about data held by the IVAO network itself (not by WorldWings Virtual), use IVAO's official GDPR contact form: https://www.ivao.aero/ContactGDPR.asp.
6.3) For requests specifically about data held by the VATSIM network itself (not by WorldWings Virtual), submit a support ticket through VATSIM's official Membership Support system: https://support.vatsim.net/.
WorldWings Virtual is not directed at children under 16. Membership in IVAO/VATSIM networks is subject to their own age requirements, which we follow.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date below.
